Weds 25th Oct: New dogs and vet bills

Baby Babs

I'll start with the new arrivals as we want to get them into homes of course, and I should mention that adorable, small and fluffy Babs has already moved into a foster home.

The whippet puppy also has a potential home so is off the list for now, but on the off chance that she doesn't leave on Thursday, and if there are other whippet enthusiasts who would like to adopt Barley, please complete the adoption questionnaire.

The two golden retrievers are staying at our Tai Po Homing Centre of course, and they're really happy and friendly young adults, now Kit (male) and Kat the female.

There are adoptions to write about, with Ella becoming a foster fail and puppy Sandro leaving his foster family to start his new life.   Small adult Penny was also chosen from the many still waiting at Kennedy Town,  so she's especially lucky.

As a side note, the new poodle girl Belle joins the long list of the many poodles that have come to us with serious knee (patella) luxation, and she will be seeing Dr Tony for an assessment and definite surgery.   I'm hopeful that her condition is fixable but we need two things, the first being a foster home so Belle can recover from her knee operations, and the second being donations to help pay for yet another expensive surgery.

We'll always do whatever it takes to help any of our dogs, but I have to be honest and say that every time another dog with a serious condition comes in, the image of dollar bills going up in flames dances in front of my eyes.  If you can help with Belle's vet costs, or those of the many others needing surgery, please see donation options at www.hongkongdogrescue.com/donate/. We really do need your support, and thank you!
