Tues 26th Oct: A very long day for 3 new arrivals

In addition to the extra work involved in physically taking care of so many new dogs, meaning the feeding, cleaning, walking and getting them all to the vet, I'm also spending hours replying to the many adoption enquiries. I try to respond to all of them as quickly as I can, but there are other things that need to be done too, like walking and feeding my Lamma dogs and writing this blog for a start.  Please be patient if you're waiting for a reply to your adoption questionnaire, especially if it's in Chinese and I have to forward to the Homing Centre team to handle.  They also have very little time to spare.

This one's a girl

The fuzzy look is always popular

Three new dogs turned up unexpectedly today, and although they were dropped off at the Tai Po Homing Centre they were immediately sent over to Ap Lei Chau.  However, while not exactly large dogs they were too big to be with all of the little ones at Ap Lei Chau, so after having been to AFCD for licensing and then to ALCVC (vet clinic) for a check and vaccination, the poor things were driven back to Tai Po.  That meant quite a day for them, so I hope they're more settled now.   One of them has the very popular fuzzy kind of coat which is good for allergy sufferers, so although they don't have names yet if you're interested you can start by completing the adoption questionnaire at www.hongkongdogrescue.com/adopt/adoption-questionnaire/
The stay at Ap Lei Chau was brief

Talia is now Lollie

Two lucky dogs left Ap Lei Chau today, one of them a very popular choice judging from the number of enquiries I received about her.  Talia is now Lollie, and I'm sure she's going to be very much loved.
Cricket in her new home

So too is little Cricket, who also had another potential home to go to once the adopter was freed from quarantine so her future was bright either way.

Joining the three new dogs heading back up to Tai Po at the end of the day, funny puppy Ricky also moved from the small Homing Centre to be with the big dogs.   His playfulness was too much for the little adults and we felt he'd enjoy being with other who wouldn't mind his non-stop games.
