Weds 1st Sept: 13 new arrivals!

It was non-stop all day today as we not only took in nine small dogs via Catherine's Puppies, but also four girl puppies that may be the siblings of Luke.  He was lucky enough to go to foster care today with puppy Beryl, who was left on her own (although with a home to go to) since her sister was adopted.  You can check out Luke's photos on Instagram @why_i_foster and maybe offer him a home too.  He's adorable!

I was busy all day responding to the flurry of adoption enquiries that were filling my inbox non-stop, and we had quite a few visitors to the Ap Lei Chau Homing Centre as a result.  One of the dogs was adopted on the spot, and she already had a couple of  alernative homes on the waiting list in case the first one didn't go ahead.  The terrier girl wasn't even given a name before she left, so I only had to come up with eight names rather than nine.

The terrier was in-and-out

Due to the large number of enquiries already being handled, with potential adopters waiting until after the vet checks to confirm their choices, please be patient if you are interested in any of the eight new dogs.  If not already done please start by completing the adoption questionnaire at www.hongkongdogrescue.com/adopt/adoption-questionnaire and wait for a reply before coming to the Homing Centre.

Although the arrival of new small dogs always attracts a lot of interest, please don't forget that we also take in a very large number of dogs at our Tai Po Homing Centre, from older puppies to lovely mature adults.  As you will have seen from yesterday's adoption figures for August, we had more dogs coming in than leaving for the month, and we need to keep a balance to avoid the numbers growing to the point where we can't cope.  We're always in need of new volunteers who can help out during the week, as this is obviously the time when most people are at work and we're short of manpower at Tai Po.  Please apply via the website www.hongkongdogrescue.com/volunteer/ if you can come along on weekdays to help out and we can fast-track such applications.
