Fri 17th Sept: Sorting, naming, homing

Willa is now Willow and proudly adopted

Starting once again with adoption news, some of you may remember Willa, a husky-terrier cross who was surrendered along with her mother (terrier), father (husky) and sister.  All were adopted except Willa, with her problem being that she didn't get on with other female dogs, and that made things difficult at the Homing Centre as you can imagine.  When Willa was offered a foster home we gladly accepted, and now that has become her forever home along with her new name of Willow.

I'm sure Hugo will love having friends

There was yet another new addition to the puppy group at Ap Lei Chau when now-Hugo was picked up from AFCD Pokfulam.  From the photos at least he looks similar to the other newcomers from Shatin AFCD, Piers and Morgan, but then I suppose black mixed breed puppies do tend to look alike.

The six small sized dogs were given their new names and sent to the nearby ALCVC clinic for their health checks and vaccinations, and are now ready for adoption.  Some already have potential families coming to meet them on Saturday, and for all of them we will choose the homes that we feel can offer the best life. It's not a case of the first applicant being the one who will take the dog or puppy home, especially when the dogs are the popular type and size.  If you have submitted the adoption questionnaire please wait for a reply before coming to the Homing Centre, and remember to check your Spam inbox if nothing has appeared.

I haven't had confirmation of a time or number, but we are supposed to be getting more small dogs coming in on Saturday.   As always you'll read it here first, so check in tomorrow for updates.
