Tues 14th Sept: A different kind of new home

K-Pup Kindle has been chosen

It was a strangely uneventful day today, although everyone's kept busy taking care of the dogs and puppies of course.  There were no actual adoptions but several in the pipeline, some of which I mentioned yesterday (the K-Pups, who are heading for their signing-off health check on Wednesday). Most of the movement seems to be incoming, with surrender and rescue requests coming in daily, and literally just in the possibility of another large group of smaller dogs to arrive at the end of the week.  Watch out for details if you're interested.

Our emergency "van" was recently donated

On other matters someone drove into our parked van and badly dented the door, so that needs to be repaired. Luckily we were recently donated a spare car for exactly these situations so we have (bright red) wheels while the van is out of action.

We're also getting close to securing new Ap Lei Chau Homing Centre premises, which is a great relief of course.  Now we have to begin the design planning, and then the actual building work, all to be completed by the end of the year.  We've been very lucky to find somewhere in Ap Lei Chau, an area we really want to stay in for several reasons,  and we'll be literally just round the corner from the Ap Lei Chau Vet Clinic (ALCVC) in our new premises.  The search has been ongoing for many months and there have been many set-backs along the way, so having the end in sight is a really good feeling. In case you need reminding of why we're leaving our current Homing Centre, it's because the building was sold for redevelopment, as is happening all over Ap Lei Chau.
