However, we have plenty of puppies staying full time at our Ap Lei Chau Homing Centre, 5 Wai Fung Street, and we would be very grateful if they could be fostered for the duration of the bad weather, which according to the forecasts should be over by Tuesday. Although all of the Ap Lei Chau dogs and puppies have shelter from the rain, if the Typhoon 10 signal goes up, which is expected, then staff and volunteers won't be able to get to the Homing Centre to feed and clean, both of which are essential. Please email Cindy at foster@hongkongdogrescue.com if you can help foster a smaller dog or puppy, but bear in mind that Cindy is also a volunteer and not full time staff, so there may be a slight delay in her replying.
Of course we're hoping that at least some of the dogs will be adopted before Sunday, and since posting videos of the young chow chows Jerry and Jewel on our HKDR Facebook page there has been quite a lot of interest. The videos show how lovely this two dogs are, even if you can't see their small (for the breed) size.

A few dogs have already left Tai Po for their Bad Weather foster homes, and thank you to everyone who has stepped up so far to help. We need a lot more temporary accommodation if the wind and rain are going to be as bad as forecast, so please email Eva (eva@hongkongdogrescue.com) or May (may@hongkongdogrescue.com) so they can choose a suitable dog for your home.
On a completely different note, we have taken delivery of a large consigment of high quality red wines which we are selling for just $50 a bottle ($600 for a case of twelve). Everyone who has bought these wines previously has commented on how good they are, so it's a perfect pre-typhoon time to stock up! Let Ka Yan at kayan@hongkongdogrescue.com know if you are interested as we have some little guard dogs making sure that the stock is safe.
