Sun 2nd Sept: A happy coincidence

Shorty is now officially adopted
By happy coincidence, as Shorty was having his adoption paperwork completed at Whiskers N Paws after his foster parents fell in love with him, his big brothers Chip and Dale were leaving our Tai Po Homing Centre together.  Mother Patsy had been the first to be chosen, and now the whole family have their own forever homes.
Shorty's brothers Chip and Dale were also adopted

Also leaving Tai Po was the first of the litter of four puppies that were just that bit too old to stay at Ap Lei Chau.  I hope Selena will lead the way for the other three siblings and that they too will soon be chosen.
The 4 Tai Po puppies became 3 today
Puppy Selena left Tai Po today, the first of her litter to be adopted

We need to find space or homes for the new ex-breeder dogs arriving on Monday, although at least the original number of twenty has been reduced to eleven.  They will be picked up by our staff and other volunteers in the afternoon, and the two chow chows who are part of the group will go straight to Ap Lei Chau while the four Alaskan malamutes, three rottweilers and two labradors will stay at Tai Po.   As always if you are interested in adopting please complete the questionnaire on the website www.hongkongdogrescue.com (under Adopt) or email Cindy at foster@hongkongdogrescue.com if you can foster, the malamutes being in particular need of staying cool and dry inside.

Over at Whiskers N Paws we took advantage of a break in the rain to be outside on the terrace, although I know the puppies also enjoy the indoors air conditioning.  Other than Shorty, Amy was another lucky foster-to-adopt puppy, while Whiskers N Paws resident Jill's adoption created a space for her brother Jack to move in.  Jimmy Tsang was back as our volunteer photographer and as always there are lots of great shots in the album  Puppy Adoption Day 2 September 2018

As a bonus, young Blake came with his family to make a TwoPresents donation after sharing his birthday good fortune with the dogs and puppies of HKDR.  Thank you Blake!
Thank you Blake for sharing your birthday

Jill's adoption meant brother Jack could take her spot at Whiskers N Paws
Amy has already settled in her home as a foster pup
