Mon 10th Sept: The weekend continues

Teabag is such a sweet girl
The weekend visitors to our Tai Po Homing Centre are starting to come back again following family discussions, and today it was Teabag's big day as she left to start her new life.  She's a very sweet girl and I'm sure she'll settle quickly.

Two of the rottweiler puppies also have an opportunity to prove themselves, with Gilbert going today (for a trial with the resident poodle) and Gracie due to be picked up on Tuesday.  That leaves only Gina assuming the other two homes work out.
I think this is Gilbert

Nibs when he first arrived
It was a different story at the Ap Lei Chau Homing Centre where rather than adoptions we took in two dogs, one a young French bulldog and the other a dachshund (who already has a potentil home to go to).  The Frenchie is Nibs, who was surrendered to us by his first owner when she admitted she didn't have the time to take care of him, and this time he came back because he and the other Frenchie in the home don't get on.  French bulldogs are well known to be difficult in this respect, although to be fair to Nibs he's one of the better behaved Frenchies and is fine in most situations, it's just that he didn't want to share his home or food.  Still very young at just over a year he's ready for a new family, this time with either no other dog or a larger dog that Nibs won't feel like bullying. If you are interested in this sweet and very playful boy, please complete the adoption questionnaire on our website www.hongkongdogrescue.com (under Adopt).

One dog who's been with us for a while at Ap Lei Chau is Sparky, and I wish he could have a chance like everyone else.  His downfall and the reason nobody has taken him yet is that he barks with excitement when he sees people, and it's really just in the hope they will notice him and give him attention.  Once he's outside or in another environment he's quiet and well behaved.  He loves people and he's a great liitle dog.  Will you give him a chance?
Who can give Sparky a chance?
