Weds 7th Feb: Last of the home breeder dogs

The new poodles are from the same home breeder as these lovely girls
We received news that the last of the home breeder dogs will be sent to us on Thursday, and I believe these are all poodles and a bull terrier but we will see what else turns up.   This is the same place that large-sized puppies Syrup, Betty and Hank came from, as well as the "meat litter", all of whom are still on Lamma as they are quite shy (hardly surprising when your fate was to be someone's dinner).
These 3 lovely big pups came from the same breeder as the poodles

We don't know if this latest group are older or younger than the five poodles we took in last time so watch our Hong Kong Dog Rescue (HKDR) Facebook page for updates if you are interested.   If the previous poodles are anything to go by, apart from having heartworm (already treated) they are very sweet dogs, and only one of them has been adopted so far.  For everything I have written about poodles - all true - these are the exceptions as they are happy and friendly dogs with no hidden bad side.

Lucky Tamsin has been adopted
There has been a lot of interest in the ex-breeder golden retrievers of course, and the adult female was adopted today.  Once her milk supply has dried up and she's regained her figure, as well as being desexed of course, I think she'll be a very lovely lady.
Life is good in a foster home

As for the puppy, he's now in a foster home and so far we haven't made any concrete plans about printing a new foot or looking at having a prosthetic leg made because he's too young.   Also the fact that the bones in that leg also have problems will almost certainly mean amputation will be the best option, and that's not really such a terrible thing.  Dogs can cope very well on three legs, as we have seen in the past.

Inky is one of the available puppies, and she is gorgeous
While there have been so many enquiries for this golden retriever baby, I would like to mention that we have many very sweet, beautiful and healthy puppies needing homes, and you can meet them all this coming Sunday at Whiskers N Paws or by arrangement in their respective foster homes.  As a reminder here's last Sunday's photo album again for you to browse through
Hong Kong Dog Rescue (HKDR) added 77 new photos to the album Puppy Adoption Day 4 February 2018 — at Whiskers N Paws
This Shih tzu boy is 9 years old

Whiskers N Paws will be closed over the Lunar New Year weekend so if you want to meet any puppies during that holiday period please contact Cindy at foster@hongkongdogrescue.com to arrange a meeting in the foster home.

We will also be taking two new dogs from AFCD Shatin, the first we have had from either of the New Territories Animal Management Centres for a long time, and even now there is just one older shih tzu and a little black mongrel puppy.  I doubt there will be the rush of interest for this little girl that there was for the golden retriever.
How long will this little girl have to wait for a home?
