Sun 4th Feb: Testing the new puppy area

The smaller pups stayed warm inside the new space at Whiskers N Paws
While the older puppies enjoyed the outside terrace at Whiskers N Paws, the youngsters and short-coated group were testing the new inside puppy area, which - as we found out - hasn't been completely finished yet.  There are still some vital additions to come, such as a clear acrylic cover on the railings, as the posts are just far enough apart to allow tiny puppy bodies to slip through.  In the end, and after several escapes, we fitted the outside enclosure fencing to the rails to put an end to the fun for runaways.

Lilo was one of today's lucky babies
Little Lilo and Maud were the two lucky pups for the afternoon, and you can see all of the sweet hopefuls here:  Hong Kong Dog Rescue (HKDR) added 77 new photos to the album Puppy Adoption Day 4 February 2018 — at Whiskers N Paws
Jimmy Tsang was today's volunteer photographer and it was quite a challenge for him having the two areas to cover but he did a great job.
Maud was the other lucky girl today

There was a lovely TwoPresents donation from a young supporter, although due to a breakdown in communications I'm still waiting for details.  In any case, thank you, and I will post the photo separately later, with a name attached.

Senior Tinky was given a new chance when he was chosen today

Thank you to this sweet little boy for choosing HKDR for his birthday

Over at our own Ap Lei Chau Homing Centre in Main Street, while senior dog Tinky was leaving following his adoption we took in a new recruit in the shape of a shiba inu puppy, our first post-Christmas surrender.  This little boy is four months at most and is available for adoption, but as always we will let him go to the home that we feel can provide the most suitable situation, and that means a lot of disappointed potential applicants.   If you are interested in this puppy please complete the adoption questionnaire on our website www.hongkongdogrescue.com (under Adopt).  Questions sent via Facebook will not be replied to without the completed questionnaire.
