Sat 10th Feb: Last pre-CNY weekend

Sunday is the last day of the Pet Expo

It was another busy day at the Pet Expo in Wanchai, and thank you to all of the volunteers who signed up to help at our stand over these three days.  Further volunteers were needed for Sunday's Freespace Happening at the West Kowloon Cultural District, and with it being Chinese New Year this coming week we're doubly grateful for so much support.  Volunteers are the backbone of HKDR and without them we wouldn't be able to operate, even on a day-to-day basis.

Senior Foxy was adopted from our Ap Lei Chau Homing Centre today, while older puppy Ashton had his trial adoption confirmed at Tai Po and new ex-breeder Tamsin left to start her new life. It's never to early or too late for any dog of any size to settle into a home, and we will wait for as long as it takes.

Inky the previous Sunday at what turned out to be her last Whiskers N Paws

A couple of puppies won't be at Sunday's Whiskers N Paws adoption afternoon this week, because they have already been chosen.  Inky had her interview today and will be picked up at the start of the Lunar New Year break, while Ted was seen at last Sunday's event and subsequently moved from his foster home to his adopters.

Still, there are lots of other puppies who will be eagerly awaiting their chance to impress potential families, and I'm very happy that the weather will mean an afternoon on the terrace and lots of happy playtime for everyone.
