One of the 5 incoming pups |
Under normal circumstances I suspect we'd have people beating down the doors to take in these gorgeous little puppies, but now that Christmas holidays are looming it's a different matter. However I have a feeling that there are still going to be plenty of families staying in Hong Kong, at least enough that we'll find foster homes for these beautiful babies.

The full five |
Please complete the fostering form at www.hongkongdogrescue.com/volunteer/fostering/ if not already registered, or for adoption it's www.hongkongdogrescue.com/adopt/adoption-questionnaire/. Unusually we know who the mother of these puppies is, at least what she looks like, but sadly she's not coming with her little family.

The mother is definitely a border collie type |
As always the pups must stay in pairs at least until they're old enough to be separated, unless there's already a dog in the home that will accept a puppy as a playmate and mentor. You can see in this video of little Celia and Cola in their foster home how vital it is for puppies to be able to have wrestling partner, snuggle buddy and all-round companion. It's not natural for puppies to be singletons, and in fact it's not natural even for adult dogs.

Cola is going to be a small adult |
Dogs are social animals that in nature live in family groups, also known as packs, and the adults teach the youngsters everything they need to know about survival and behaviour. Having an older dog in the home to teach a young puppy the rules makes life so much easier all round for the humans, and it benefits both the younger and older dogs too. It's not essential to have more than one dog in the home, but it's certainly easier.

Celia is also very cute |
