Thurs 7th Sept: Looking forward to two important events

We seem to be in a lull at the moment, which is good in a way as it's enabled me to think about the "Diamond Dogs" Gala on Saturday and Whiskers N Paws puppy afternoon on Sunday.  I have some specific older puppies that I'm determined to find great homes for so this is my current project, especially since by Sunday the fundraising gala event will be done and dusted.

You won't find a sweeter puppy than Troy
The puppies I'm talking about are three in foster, so they come ready trained and as great family dogs.  Troy has been an almost-adopted so many times that I can't believe he is still with us, or rather with his foster parents, while Alfie only went to a foster home last Sunday.  It was going to go two ways, meaning he would either prove me right and turn out to be an amazing success, or he would be a problem with his noisy chatter.  As it turned out he has been perfectly behaved and he got an A+ on his first report.  He is everything I had hoped,  sweet and friendly with everyone and hasn't barked at any dogs.  So even if he is shouty again on Sunday I can say with hand on heart that he won't be like that once in a home, and as a smaller sized dog he's perfect for apartment life.
Alfie is always busy busy busy at Whiskers N Paws

Rufus is my third project dog, and just like all of the other Stanley Barracks boys, when he's at Whiskers N Paws he just waits patiently until it's time to go home again.  He doesn't show the gorgeous, loving and affectionate side of him, or the fact that he loves playing with his dog friends and swimming in the sea.  He has a lovely foster home and in his mind he assumes that's where he'll be staying, so he doesn't feel the need to show off and ingratiate himself.
Rufus may be the last of this particular "breed"

It's quite possible that Rufus will be the last of the recognisable Stanley Barracks "breed" now that the mother of them all has been caught, desexed and adopted, so if you want to be one of the lucky group that have these wonderful dogs, this is your last and only opportunity.
Jolene wearing a post-surgery T-shirt has discovered the joys of playing with toys

There's great news about bulldog Jolene, and I'm not even talking about the fact that she survived the many surgeries she needed, rather that she will be staying in her foster home as a forever dog.  She's such a beautiful character, and has done so amazing well both physically and mentally, that she has won the hearts of everyone who meets her.
