Sun 17th Sept: A wonderful day of assorted adoptions

Nathan is now officially Yoda
The day started off really well with the adoptions confirmed of baby pup Nathan, who was taken for fostering last week, as well as puppy Dusty and tiny Mandy the mini-Maltese. We had thought Mandy would be coming back to the Homing Centre after her bout of gastroenteritis, but her foster couldn't give her up and took her home for ever instead.

Pugwash had the last laugh as he was adopted
Blinky's now ex-best friend Pugwash, having been thrown over for dachshund Stan, got his own back by being adopted, as was returnee Pops, who had come back from his previous home quite traumatised.  We will never know what happened to him, Susie and Carter, and any other poor dogs that might have been there, but it wasn't nice.  Being a senior, Pops was able to shake off the bad memories fairly quickly and bounced back to his happy previous self, while Susie and Carter are improving slowly but surely.
Happy adoption for Pops

There were two lucky doglets at Whiskers N Paws too, or three if you count Alfie who was promised a home next week when dog walkers have been arranged.  In fact this was Alfie's week, as there were a couple of other interested parties who would have adopted him if he hadn't already been spoken for, and it's funny how it often works that way.  I'm hoping that will be the case for handsome and very special boy Rufus, who at this point is still waiting.
I have a feeling it will be Rufus's time very soon
Alfie has done so well with his lovely foster parents

Oscar was adopted by a family member!
Doglet Oscar was adopted by a member of his foster's family, so that will be a very smooth and easy transition as everyone already knows each other, while Jerry went to a very nice foster home.  It's not an adoption but he will enjoy being back in a real home after having to be returned from a previous foster situation, and hopefully he will never have to come back to Lamma.

Lucky Oona!
Pretty Oona was also a lucky girl today as she was chosen to go home, while sharpei Clementine came to celebrate her going-to-England adoption.

Elena Mathew was today's volunteer photographer at Whiskers N Paws and the photos are wonderful. Take a look here Hong Kong Dog Rescue (HKDR) added 123 new photos to the album Puppy Adoption Day 17 September 2017 — at Whiskers N Paws
Clementine is such a lovely and lucky girl
