Sat 2nd Sept: No typhoon this time

The Puppy Party is ON!
I'm still carrying out repairs to the broken walls and fences on Lamma while continuously trying to round up the dogs that keep finding new escape routes, but at least I don't have to worry about the latest typhoon threat and can concentrate my thoughts on Sunday's Whiskers N Paws puppy afternoon.  It might rain off and on, but that's not such a problem after what we've been though.  There are lots of youngsters now and we need to find them good homes.

Maybe this week will be the right one for unlucky-so-far Troy, who is the sweetest and best-behaved boy.  He's missed out again and again due to circumstances like the weather, and while I keep seeing happy updates posted on his sister, Anfield, Troy just seems to have been passed by.  I know someone will notice him before too long and I hope it will be soon.
It must be Troy's turn soon

At least one puppy won't need to join the others at Whiskers N Paws as Lyra was adopted today. She's a very lucky girl as she has a built-in big sister (four legs) to show her around and to play with, as well as a lovely human family.

We had an emergency with pug Coral today after discovering an eye injury, and after sending her to Acorn to see Dr Andy he recommended removing the eye as it was obviously very painful.  Coral is blind anyway so it won't make any difference to her sight, but we really need a foster home for her. She's as sweet as can be with people but gets into arguments with other small dogs, maybe and quite possibly because she can't see them, and we can't put her back into a situation where she risks further damage.  If anyone can foster this lovely little dog we will provide all food, bed and everything else.  Please contact Cindy at foster@hongkongdogrescue.com if you can help.
