Sat 9th Sept: All of our dogs are "Diamond Dogs"

The stage at Diamond Dogs
It was finally the day of our "Diamond Dogs" Gala event, and more of that later when we have photos and the count for the evening.  Thanks to Jamie for organising, our fantastic sponsors for providing the prizes and amazing decor, and a giant bag of takeaway goodies for everyone.  Most of all thank you to all of our guests for being there and taking part and helping to support our lifesaving work.

Happy's turn came today
Puppy-turned-young adult Happy was adopted at Tai Po today, and I honestly don't know why he waited so long, or his brother Jolly who is left behind.  I gave these brothers their names because that's exactly how they are, although poor Jolly has demodex so has been looking a bit scruffy.
Big baby Luigi

Big baby Luigi, the Neopolitan mastiff puppy, has been keeping his adopters amused with his antics as he's quite the thief.  You can take a look at a funny video of him on our Hong Kong Dog Rescue Facebook page playing with a floor mop, a normal sized toy for him. He's fitted in well with his "brothers", the resident dogs, and the home is perfect for a dog like this.

Boris the bulldog has been settling down at our Ap Lei Chau Homing Centre, although his skin is itchy and bothers him.  It would be lovely to get him into a home and get it all sorted, and there has been quite a bit of interest so I hope the next time I write about him it will be with an adoption photo.

One of the guests at our Diamond Dogs gala was Burma's adopter, and she told me how well she had settled, even not bothering the cats.  It certainly looks from the photo as if Burma really belongs and has lived like this all of her life.  It just goes to prove that it's never too late to adopt and give a senior the home of their dreams.

Whiskers N Paws are our generous sponsors
Sunday is of course Whiskers N Paws puppy afternoon and the four new and very large babies will be there, as well as the many other young hopefuls.  This is usually a busy time of year for puppy adoptions and I hope the season lives up to that tradition.
