I was on standby for the impending typhoon today, preparing myself for a night of wind and rain and barking dogs, so I was happy when nothing happened in the end and Wednesday will be back to normal.
Sylvie is ready for adoption |
We may have some new puppies arriving, and in anticipation of that happening we'll be needing new foster homes and preferably on Hong Kong Island. The reason for that is the vet clinics we use are located in Sai Ying Pun, Happy Valley and Ap Lei Chau, so it's much easier for any emergencies, or even just regular check-ups, if foster homes are located within easy reach of these areas. If you can help please email Cindy at foster@hongkongdogrescue.com, and we will provide everything you need in terms of food, bed, bowls etc.
It's Shibaland upstairs at Ap Lei Chau |
I asked the Ap Lei Chau team how all the shiba inus were getting on after seeing a photo of the upstairs area where the Shy Squad stay. We put puppy Donny there, then added the latest arrival Goji so we could assess their behaviour and monitor any problems. Gumbo is our long-term resident shiba, along with "fake" shiba Carlo, a shy boy, and so far things aren't too bad, with at least no blood being shed!
Of course we're looking for new homes for all of our shiba inu, Lamma-based Damson included, but these are special dogs that have specific requirements in terms of space and dog experience, and there can be no young children in the home.
Percy is staying with new best friend Lucy at WNP |
If you're looking for an easy puppy for a first-time dog adopter or a family with children, look no further than Percy (currently staying at Whiskers N Paws) or Ziti, last of "The Edibles", at Tai Po. Both of these older puppies have the best personality, are super-sweet and gentle, and are really ready to join the list of "Adopted".
Sweet and gentle Ziti |
