Young and handsome Sonic |
Mondays are always busy as we follow up on the weekend's adoptions and enquiries, many of which come from potential adopters who have visited Whiskers N Paws or one of the two Homing Centres and have had time to have a family discussion. Most of the following week's adoptions are a result of weekend meetings, although with so many new dogs coming in all the time there's always a huge choice, especially when it comes to the larger adult dogs like these at Tai Po TP available dogs (Aug 2021).
As a reminder here's the album of currently available puppies Puppy Adoption Day 15th August 2021, updated and with names added so you can browse through and meet any you like during the week at our Ap Lei Chau Homing Centre, 10am to 6pm, or again next Sunday assuming they're all still with us.

Digby is just 7 months old |
We took in the labrador puppy I mentioned yesterday, and thankfully his legs and hips aren't as bad as we expected. He will need surgery I'm sure, but he's mobile, and being only seven months old he's a typical soppy and happy lab. We'll be asking Dr Tony Matthews at Acorn for his opinion and what and when surgery would best be carried out, but in the meantime in anticipation of knee or hip, or both, needing fixing Digby will be moving to a foster home (where hopefully he'll be staying forever).
One thing that's an essential part of doing animal rescue work is working alongside a great team that supports each other, and having a good sense of humour. There's obviously so much that I can't write about for various reasons, but I'm always deeply appreciative of the staff and regular volunteers who are there to talk to, share with, and laugh about all the things that happen on a daily basis that would otherwise have you banging your head against a wall. Thank you to everyone, and to the dogs and puppies of course for important cuddle therapy.
