Thurs 17th June: Dogs coming and going

I've mentioned the dogs that are moving to new homes behind the scenes, including those who don't need to stay at the Homing Centres and are lucky enough to be able to skip that part of the adoption process.  One of those dogs was a young labrador whose family were heartbroken about having to give him up due to the current airline/flight restrictions, something that we're seeing more and more of at the moment, also meaning even those who want to adopt from us and live in other countries can't currently move ahead.

Happy the labrador is already adored by his new family
Now-Happy's new family had been to Tai Po to visit and had been interested in other dogs at the Homing Centre, but when I knew there was a labrador needing a home I thought it was a perfect match and I was right.  Everyone is delighted, including now-Happy's previous family who had been so worried about him.
Cotton was found on the street

I don't usually makes excuses for people not taking their dogs with them when they leave Hong Kong but understand that these are difficult times and the circumstances exceptional.  However that doesn't mean there's any excuse for abandoning dogs on the street, as happened to the little poodle we picked up from AFCD today, or surrendering a dog to AFCD that has had nothing done in terms of microchip, license or vaccinations.   (The poodle Cotton isn't available for adoption just yet and in any case has a potential family standing by).
Enzo is 5 years old and a lovely boy

The larger mixed breed dog is five years old and a handsome boy, and he'll be going to Tai Po after his vet visit on Thursday, while a four month-old puppy that was rescued and taken to Tai Po Homing Centre will be moving to Ap Lei Chau.
Coconut still has all his baby teeth

The recently-surrendered husky also left the Homing Centre today and is no doubt enjoying the air-conditioning again.
I'm so happy the surrendered husky is in a home again
