Sat 13th June: Just a passing typhoon

Ticket and Fidget
Everyone was wondering if The Murray event would be able to go ahead with the first typhoon of the year threatening, but thankfully other than occasional rain on Sunday we'll be fine, especially as the venue is under cover.

Date: 14 June 2020 (Sun)
Venue: The Arches, Level 1, The Murray, Hong Kong, a Niccolo Hotel
Time: 12pm-3pm

Going from the Ap Lei Chau Homing Centre are brother-sister pair Ticket and Fidget, beagles Coffee and Bailey, sister puppies Sugar and Sara, "B" puppies Ben and Barbie and black-and-white pup Amanda.   Adults coming from Tai Po or foster homes are beagle-cross Macy, Etta, Flippy and Inky.

Sassy went home with big "sister" Maya
One puppy who won't be joining on Sunday is Sassy, the first of the black "Sugarbabe" girls to be adopted.  She left the Homing Centre today with her big "sister" Maya, also adopted from HKDR but a long time ago.
Salty and his new daddy

The best news of the day had to be Salty's adoption though.  This funny little boy had such an awful start in life, one we can only suppose was a lonely and sad puppyhood, and when driver Ming and I managed to catch him after he ended up on the waterfront near Aberdeen, Salty was terrified and untouchable.  It took time for the upstairs office team, including trainer Cactus, to slowly rehabilitate him step by step, until he was finally ready to move downstairs to be with the others available for adoption.   By now Salty had become very affectionate and loved leaning against legs to be petted, but he was bossy with some of the other dogs and puppies at times, and could also be noisy.  Lots of people came to meet him but his barking put them off, and although we all felt he would be much happier and calmer in a home of his own, it wasn't until today that it happened.   I'm looking forward to hearing Salty's news and progress, and want to thank his adopter for giving him this chance.
Gorgeous little "T" babies

We had new arrivals as expected, including four lovely puppies.  They will have to wait until Monday to see a vet and be vaccinated so won't be joining the Murray House event, but they can be seen at the Homing Centre of course.
Edie sweet and gentle

Also joining the many other dogs-in-waiting at Tai Po were husky-cross Mocha, a very sweet girl, and Edie, who was adopted from HKDR six years ago.  These are lovely family dogs that have lived with children, so they are perfect for anyone wanting an easy and laid-back adult with a known history.  I really hope they don't have to wait too long to find new homes.

Whether coming to either Homing Centre or going to The Murray event to meet the dogs and puppies, please help us by completing the adoption questionnaire in advance.  It's at www.hongkongdogrescue.com/adopt/adoption-questionnaire/

Husky-cross Mocha is a lovely girl
