Sun 7th June: A good day despite the downpours

O'Malley and Joel, now truly best friends for ever!
You all know how happy I am when one of the Tai Po dogs finds a home, especially the long-termers as they probably spent some time with me on Lamma when they were puppies.  I don't do that any more as the puppy area was completely demolished during Typhoon Manghut last year, and anyway it's easier for adopters to meet the puppies at our Ap Lei Chau Homing Centre, but of course I remembered O'Malley as a puppy, along with his brother O'Brien (it was their foster parent who took them in as very young babies who came up with their unusual names).  O'Malley has been in foster with another ex-HKDR dog Joel where they have become great friends and playmates,  and today I got a message letting me know O'Malley would be staying for good.

Also leaving Tai Po was Eddie, a lovely boy who was one of the cruelty case dogs that came to us from AFCD after a long stay there.  His adoption is also special due to his heartbreaking story, and we're all so happy to know that from now on his life will be changed for ever.

The "B" puppy numbers continue to shrink as Bobby and Basil left today, Bobby from Ap Lei Chau and Basil from Whiskers N Paws.

There was also some following confusion as three separate families were re-directed to Whiskers N Paws to meet puppy Betty after Basil left, but I suspect there's some sort of sink hole that swallowed them up on the way as Betty is still there.

We're also asking for the remaining three "B" puppies to be returned from their respective foster homes so they'll be on site to meet potential adopters, while another pair of very young babies are still too little to be ready to leave foster care.
