Mon 8th June: Multiple surrenders

One of the labradors
In just one morning I received surrender requests from two sources, one for four dogs and the other for three, which subsequently became four and perhaps even five depending on the health of one of the dogs.
This labrador is a chocolate one

Mocha husky cross 8 years old
The four dogs include two beagles, one adopted from HKDR some time ago, a husky-cross and a mongrel, also from HKDR.  I have already had enquiries about the beagles so I'm not concerned about them, but the four-maybe-five dogs are all old labradors, eleven to twelve years of age, black and cocolate coloured.   This is a very popular breed but the dogs are already seniors and I suspect finding homes is going to be difficult, and of course we don't expect any one adopter to take all of them together.  What I really don't want is for the poor dogs to have to stay at our Tai Po Homing Centre, so even foster homes would be appreciated.  Pleease contact Cindy at foster@hongkongdogrescue.com if you can help, and for adoptions complete the questionnaire at www.hongkongdogrescue.com/adopt/adoption-questionnaire/

The reason for both sets of dogs needing new homes is that the owners are leaving Hong Kong.

Hoping to get back to some kind of normality again, although the weather isn't helping, we'll be holding a mini adoption event this Sunday, 12 noon until 3pm, at The Murray,  a dog-friendly hotel in Central.  As we still have a good part of the week left we don't know at this point which dogs or puppies will be there, but I'm quite sure it will be a good selection.   "The Arches" area within the hotel is on the first floor and sheltered, so we can stay dry if it's raining and out of the sun if it's hot.   More details will be posted on our Facebook page later if you're interested in attending.
