Weds 3rd April: We have a LOT of puppies to choose from

First of all and as promised, an update on Stinker plus huge thanks for the contributions towards his treatment and hospitalisation costs.  I know his story has touched many hearts, and if positive thoughts help then Stinker will be up and running around in no time.  There was good news about his condition today as he is eating by himself and there was no diarrhoea, and the blood from Tusk increased his red cell count quite a lot.  Now it just has to stay that way.

This lovely young girl was running on the road in Aberdeen
We have some new dogs either coming soon or already with us, the latter being one that was found running round the streets of Aberdeen today and without a microchip.  After a shower she looks very pretty and since there is no traceable owner I guess she's staying unless she's reported as a lost dog.

Another one who is coming in the next few days is a young white sharpei male, seven to eight months old, who was left in a grooming shop.  Quite why you would need to take a sharpei for grooming is beyond me but I'm guessing it was just an excuse to dump the dog, and he will be brought to us after he has been microchipped and licensed.  If you are interested in this boy, who I'm told is very well behaved, please complete the Adoption Questionnaire on our website www.hongkongdogrescue.com (under Adopt).

We're also expecting another couple of poodles from the breeder/hoarder, as well as a small dog we're told is the mother of the previous "Kitten" litter (now all adopted).   I hope to have information on them by Friday, assuming they arrive as planned.

The poodles hardly moved when they first arrived
The previous group of poodles that we took in from that terrible place have now started to play, something that's wonderful to see.  The physical condition is one thing that's fairly easy to treat, but it's the mental and emotional damage that's much more difficult in cases of neglect and abuse.  Somehow these dogs have the sweetest and most forgiving nature, and now they are learning how to enjoy their life after missing out on years of such simple pleasures.  Watch the video here: https://www.facebook.com/cactusndogs/videos/283115402591290/

4 sisters plus baby Boris
The weekend is coming up again and that means puppy afternoon at Whiskers N Paws on Sunday with lot of new recruits like these four happy girls who came from AFCD on Tuesday.   You can also meet the puppies any day at our Ap Lei Chau Homing Centre, 5 Wai Fung Street.
