Weds 6th July: Aladdin's "Returnaversary"

Martin and his now-sister Molly
There was some very happy news today from Martin's trial home, and that was to confirm that he would be staying.  Martin had already been in a few foster homes and each had said what a lovely dog he was, so we were all determined to find him a forever place in someone's heart.  In this case that also included resident dog Molly (who happens to look very much like my Lamma dog Opal), and once she had given her approval Martin's adoption was confirmed.

In fact Martin has some lookalike siblings who are part of a small group of same-age dogs led by Aladdin, who today celebrated his one year "Returnaversary", the day he came back to Lamma after forty five days on the run.  I'm sure many of you remember Aladdin's widely-reported escapades, including the famous run through the cross harbour tunnel.

A few people were asking about him on Facebook and wondering where he is now, and I can report that he is very well and happy, and that he and his friends enjoy their daily outings to the beach for play and swimming.   Unfortunately Aladdin is one of those dogs that I feel will never be happy in another home, much like Griffin and Opal, both of whom were adopted and subsequently returned.   I don't know what it is with some dogs and why they are over-attached, but as long as I'm able to take care of them I suppose it doesn't really matter.

The first-ever HKDR Flag Day 2016  is coming up fast! While the volunteer application is closed, you can still support us by pre-ordering your flag sheet at:
