Thurs 7th March: Catching up on a missed day

I have a bit of catching up to do as I wasn't able to post anything yesterday thanks to an early appointment which had me leaving home long before I normally do.

We had the now-usual surprise arrival at Kennedy Town, a lovely one year-old girl who's called Sandy.  She's very sweet, so hopefully her stay will be a short one.

Simon heading home

As Sandy was arriving one of our puppies was leaving, and this lucky (and gorgeous) boy was Simon.

Also behind the scenes, another puppy had his adoption confirmed after a short trial with the resident dog, also ex-HKDR, and his name is Enzo.  Everything has worked out perfectly, so we're all very happy, especially Enzo's ex-foster parents who loved him dearly and were even considering keeping him.  We all want the best homes for our dogs and puppies, so it's wonderful to see them doing so well.

Marla looks older then she is

Freda has a wonderful new home

Also joining the "Failed Foster" Club, ex-breeder Cavalier Kong Charles, Marla, will be staying forever in what was initially a temporary home.  The timing was just right as another potential adopter had wanted to meet Marla, but instead took home the newly arrived terrier, Freda, as well as poodle Paulie on a foster basis.  Paulie has a leg problem which will need surgery, so we're grateful that he has a place to stay during recovery.

In addition to the large number of smaller sized dogs and puppies already staying at our Kennedy Town Centres, we have still more coming in over the next few days.  Please keep checking in to see their photos and details, as much as we're given that is, and please remember to complete the questionnaire as a first step before coming to meet any of the dogs.  It's at www.hongkongdogrescue.com/adopt/adoption-questionnaire/.

I'd also like to remind all adopters that they have free access to our amazing trainer, Cactus, who will help with any training and behaviour issues.  However, since many of the questions that Cactus is asked are those that are frequently asked, we put together a comprehensive booklet of everything your need to know when first taking a dog or puppy home.  It seems many adopters haven't taken the time to read any of the information provided, so please take a moment to check.  The booklet guidelines are easy to follow, and there are illustrations to accompany all of the short text.
