Thurs 14th March: Gail's lucky day

Very sweet Gail was the lucky girl today

It's a funny but interesting fact that although we have many - and I mean really a lot of - lovely smaller dogs waiting for their forever homes,  it isn't until their photos are posted on our Facebook and Instagram pages that they start to receive attention.

Today it was Sandy whose profile resulted in so many enquiries, and even potential adopters coming to meet her, but unfortunately she was at Acorn having her health check, along with nine other new Kennedy Town dogs.  The good news is that I'm pretty sure Sandy will be leaving very soon, but in the meantime one of her potential adopters took another dog home instead.  That was Gail, also a wonderful little girl who is very sweet.

So what I'm trying to say is that rather than focusing on one particular dog that you see promoted, there could very well be the perfect match waiting for you instead.  We do try to to share all of their photos, and I had posted Sandy on my blog when she first arrived on the 7th March, but coming to meet them all in person is the best way to find your special new friend.   Remember to complete the questionnaire as a first step so we know what you're looking for: www.hongkongdogrescue.coom/adopt/adoption-questionnaire/.

Although most potential adopters are looking for smaller sized dogs,  we have so many lovely medium and larger dogs waiting at our Tai Po Homing Centre.  Sadly many of them wait their whole lives in vain, and you will see them named as our Forever Dogs at the end of every month when we share the adoption numbers.  I feel very sad when I see the names of those that started out as very young puppies that lived with me on Lamma before moving to Tai Po, as I had always hoped that they would be chosen once they could be seen there.

Here are a couple of new arrivals to our main Tai Po Homing Centre, and I really really hope that they will be the lucky ones who find their new families before it's too late.
