Sat 2nd March: The first Puppy Party of the month

These two are older puppies

At least one of the new poodles left our Kennedy Town North Street Centre today for a short trial with the already-resident dog, but at the same time we received two more new (older) puppies.  On Sunday we'll be getting the mother of this pair (and my heart is already melting), as well as another gorgeous mix-of-everything terrier type.  Yes, I'm a sucker for this scruffy look, and if I was able to I would be taking them all home with me.
I want this mother dog

I want this one too

Almost every time one of these smaller dogs is adopted we're asked for the history, the background story of where they came from and who the parents are, but we almost never have such information available.  The only time we know anything is if the dog is surrendered directly to us by the owner, but in the case of these dogs and puppies that are being brought to us on an almost daily basis, it's got to the point that we often don't even know they're coming until they're five minutes away.  They don't have microchips giving an age, so even that is an estimate based on teeth and general condition.   The fact that we were told the scruffy black-and-white dog is the mother of Renee and Rory is unusual in itself, but in the end it doesn't really tell us much about the dogs and where they came from.

Sunday is Whiskers N Paws day again, the first Puppy Party of the month and hopefully a day when at least one of two lucky candidates are chosen.  Of course you can meet many puppies at our Kennedy Town Homing Centre any day of the week, as well as puppies in foster homes, but the best way to see them all and to spend quality time with them is at the regular Sunday events.  For two hours you can watch them running around and playing, or cuddle then when they stop for a rest.

Please remember to complete the adoption questionnaire in advance of any visit.  It's at www.hongkongdogrescue.com/adopt/adoption-questionnaire/
