Thurs 15th Feb: Coming in, and moving out

The first thing I want to mention is that the owner of the labradoodle I wrote about yesterday has completely disappeared, so I assume we're no longer wanted as far as finding a new home is concerned. This happens time and time again so it's not a huge surprise, even if I find it somewhat odd.  It's also time consuming for me because I have to respond to the adoption enquiries that come in as a result of trying to help, so I can only hope that potential adopters will consider one of the many other dogs in need of a home.

Poodle boy

As you know we have new dogs arriving on a very regular basis, and there is one notable poodle in the four that we'll be taking from AFCD on Friday.  This is because he is one of those poodles that were surrendered to the police after the case I wrote about in my blog on the 6th February, just as a way for the breeder to avoid prosecution.  How?  Just by claiming that that unlicensed dogs had been found stray, all lies of course but good enough for AFCD.
Where the poodles were found

There were six such poodles that were "found stray", and I assume the other five have been offered to other AWOs (Animal Welfare Organisations).   The age assigned to the poodle we'll be taking is seven years, and if you would like to offer him a home please start by completing the questionnaire at www.hongkongdogrescue.com/adopt/adoption-questionnaire/.

This little pom is 5 years old

The other adult dog in the Friday four is another ex-breeder pom, very small just like the previous one, Minnie, who was adopted the other day.

The remaining two are very lovely puppies, not babies but still quite young.

One of the shibas at Kennedy Town left for a trial adoption today (there's already another dog in the home), but I won't share a photo until we have some good news about him.

Shiba Anki is still a puppy

We still have four other shibas waiting for their lucky day, including Anki who is still a puppy at under a year old.  The other three are Kira, Santa and Dewy.  You can find their details, and details of all available dogs at www.hongkongdogrescue.com/dogs/.

You may have seen on our Facebook and Instagram pages that we're getting ready to leave our wonderful 22 Elgin Street location, so kindly lent to us for the past two years.  We don't have a confirmed moving out date yet, nor sadly anywhere to move to, and that's why we're offering clearance prices on our fantastic merchandise.  A lot of people think that being a charity shop means second hand, or otherwise second grade quality, but that's absolutely not the case.  Please come by to see what we have on offer, and remember that 100% of what you buy goes towards helping the dogs.
