Although the first day of the Lunar New Year we still had visitors to our big Tai Po Homing Centre, and one lucky dog even left for a trial adoption. I don't want to get ahead of myself by naming her, but I hope it will soon turn into an adoption and I'll be able to share a photo as well as a name.
I wrote about the Tai Po volunteers the other day, and the lucky dogs who'd be enjoying a day out to celebrate the arrival of the New Year, but today I want to share a wonderful video, courtesy of volunteer Nocus, showing some puppies exploring on their first outing. Until puppies are fully vaccinated against infectious diseases they can't go out into public places where they might pick up a virus. However, it's important to get started on socialisation as early as possible, so the normal outdoor sights and noises aren't overwhelming for a puppy that has never been outside before. With one puppy you can carry them, but with three another method is needed, so here it it......
Lovely boy Lambert |
I needed a photo at the top of the page so I chose a really cute puppy called Lily. Now two of her littermates have been adopted (Lance and Lollipop), leaving Lily and Lambert still available. Lambert is also gorgeous, and I know the only reason they haven't found homes yet is because they don't have an Instagram page.
Since we won't be holding a Puppy Party at Whiskers N Paws this Sunday, if you would like to meet any puppies waiting for home you can go to our Kennedy Town Homing Centre, or meet the foster puppies by arrangement. Either way, please start by completing the questionnaire at www.hongkongdogrescue.com/adopt/adoption-questionnaire/ so we can let you know where the puppies are currently staying.
