While all nine of the new puppies were being picked up by their foster parents, the other group of nine adults fresh from AFCD Sheung Shui were being settled in and given names, at least those staying at Ap Lei Chau. The two shiba inu are Kenzo and Bonsai (who tested positive for heartworm), with the two poodles now Jiffy (white) and Jester.
One of the two new akitas also tested positive for heartworm, and how I wish people would just give their dogs the very simple prevention. The treatment to safely kill the worms in the heart is not only expensive, it's lengthy too as there needs to be pre-treatment preparation as well as post-treatment recovery.
One of the two puppy sisters staying as guests at Whiskers N Paws was chosen today, so while Pippa will soon be leaving to start her new life we need to find a new friend for Patti. She's quite a shy puppy so perhaps an outgoing and confident partner will help her.
