Sat 11th July: One baby replaces another

Baby Bumpy is in safe hands now
Baby Paddle is now off the available list but there's a new baby taking her place, this time a boy who was found with what looked like a grass loop tied round his leg which had caused swelling and possible infection. Bumpy is very young, probably only around two weeks old, and he was quickly moved to the amazing foster home where Tumble and Ruffle have also been staying.  They too needed bottle feeding initially, and anyone who has experienced having to feed a puppy every few hours knows how challenging it can be.  For Bumpy he's obviously in safe hands now but we'll need to get him to a vet to have his leg checked out as soon as possible.

Dixon will be at Whiskers N Paws
Also off the available puppy list is Little Eagle as he will be going home first thing on Sunday, and probably Janie too, also due to be picked up at around the same time.  It does reduce the number of puppies that will be going to Whiskers N Paws for the 2pm to 4pm session, but there will be enough for the indoor area.  It's too hot to be on the terrace at the moment.
Ruffle (and Tumble) will also be at Whiskers N Paws

Una already has a home
I know that Sunday will be a busy day at the Ap Lei Chau Homing Centre as we have a few potential adopters interested in the Scotties, with one (Una) already spoken for.   They still don't look perfect but at least their health checks didn't show anything more serious than the results of neglect and poor care, and the best news of all was that the five adults who are now at Tai Po are also clear of heartworm.  I think that's a first.  They're all lovely dogs and available to meet on any day, 10am to 6pm.

  1. Those poor Scotties. I can't wait to see their transformations in the next few months. XXX
