Tues 10th Sept: Back on track

I've been frantically trying to catch up on unanswered emails now that I've managed to kick-start my computer into cooperating again, so apologies for late replies if you've been waiting.  I usually respond to all enquiries immediately so it's been frustrating to have to leave them while I stare at a frozen screen but I'm back on track now.

Volunteers still needed
On top of that the preparations for the upcoming "Bohemian Pupsody" are in their final stages so the organising team, myself included,  have been frantically messaging back and forth, and once again I need to say a huge thank you to the volunteers who have given so much of their time to put this event together.  It's a massive job and every year I say never again, but we need the funds raised to keep HKDR going so it's hard to say no.  Late ticket sales are also an inevitable part of planning any event as people realise they've forgotten to book, so please let us know if you're going to be coming as we have to have the numbers in advance.

We're also still recruiting for volunteers for the event and you don't have to be a registered HKDR volunteer, you just need to be over 18 years.  To sign up, please fill up this simple form: https://cutt.ly/SwnftN8

Aqua Group are also donating a special auction prize at Statement

As well as the volunteers on the organising team, we couldn't put on any event without the support of our sponsors and prize donors, and this year we have some amazing and exclusive auction items, one of which I mentioned yesterday.  The full list will be published in our programme and on Facebook, but I would like to give a special mention to this year's Gold Sponsors: Aqua Restaurant Group, Whiskers N Paws and Sweetpea Cafe (as well as private individual support).

Even if you can't come to the Bohemian Pupsody event there are many easy ways to support HKDR, like this Alipay campaign:

Support HKDR dogs while paying your bills via AlipayHK!
Thank you AlipayHK for inviting HKDR to be one of the beneficiaries in their latest charity campaign. Every time you pay your bills via AlipayHK, you can choose for HKDR to receive a "Love Token". AlipayHK will then donate to HKDR based on the percentage of "Love Token" HKDR has received among the three designated charities. Total donation for all the three charities could be up to $1 million, so please help HKDR get as much of that as possible by simply using the service!
Bill payment service covers home utilities, telecom, paid TV, and even property management for some buildings. Campaign period: 20 August to 19 October, 2019. Act now and help HKDR!

Back to the business of dogs, I took poodle Kobe to Acorn to have his dressing removed following surgery for both patella luxation and cruciate rupture, and the poor boy was very brave and didn't say (or do) anything.  It will be a while before he's fully recovered but at least the worst is over now, and thanks once again to Dr Tony for a great repair job.

We know this will be a popular dog
I had news of some new dogs coming in including four small ones, a one year-old Samoyed and a mixed breed puppy, and they should be arriving on Saturday.  If you are interested in any dog please complete the Adoption Questionnaire on our website www.hongkongdogrescue.com (under Adopt).
