Fri 20th Sept: It's party time!

Ths time on Sunday the "Bohemian Pupsody" event will be over and we'll be working on the next big fundraiser "Pulse to Fun", which is the name we came up with which keeps the traditional P2F, the logo that will still be on this year's T-shirts.  In case you have missed the news about the Peak and Lan Kwai Fong being off the cards due to the current situation regarding the protests, we'll be moving to the Pulse in Repulse Bay for the sponsored walk and party on Sunday 1st December.  It's still going to be a great day out for families and their dogs so save the date.

You can still support even if not at the event
Please remember that you can bid on any of the great auction items available at the "Bohemian Pupsody" event and it's really very easy.  Just take a look here  https://bidr.co/events/teddie, register and make your offer.   All of the work (and there's been lots of it) that has gone into the organisation and production of this fundraiser is down to a small group of volunteers, with the help and support of our valuable and generous sponsors and supporters.  It's been particularly tough this year because of the political situation, but the old saying "the show must go on" applies, because whatever is happening outside doesn't change anything for the dogs and their needs.  We're asking you to keep that in mind as you think about bidding on any of the items and to remember how important it is to us that we keep the funding coming in, maybe now more than ever.

There will also be NO Concordia Pet Care puppy afternoon this Saturday because of the evening's party where volunteer Becky will be helping out, along with husband Ted who's been making a video to show during the event.  The video will be available to watch on YouTube later for those of you who won't be at the Aberdeen Marina Club for the event itself.

Oliver and Cromwell are happy, healthy and very friendly
You can always meet the puppies at the Ap Lei Chau Homing Centre anyway, at least those not in foster, and that includes the two new boys Oliver and Cromwell who were at Acorn with me this afternoon.  They're very happy, healthy and friendly puppies, ready to go off to their new homes and families.
Dini is happy to be near ex-HKDR Abby

I didn't mention anything yesterday because I wanted to make sure that everything was working out, but terrier Dini is doing really well in his trial home.  The photos show a still-shy but much more relaxed little dog who's eating and going for walks, something we haven't seen since he was recaptured following his time on the run.  He'll be fine I'm sure, and his family have the patience and experience to get though this initial stage.  I can't wait to see Dini's tail up and wagging and I have a feeling it won't be too long before that happens.
Lucky Jade is staying forever in her rescuer's home

Also having her adoption confirmed after having been in foster for a while, bichon Jade is now formally a family member.  Her story is unusual in that she was in another foster home when she ran away and was lost for some time, and it was her now-adopter who found her and took her home.

Volunteer Harryn is always a great source of photos for my blog, and here are some of the Ap Lei Chau groups enjoying life.  I expect that by the end of the weekend a few of them will have left the Homing Centre, and we know that at least a couple of dogs are due to go home on Monday.  As always I won't mention names just yet but I can say that puppy Rica, who was taken home from Whiskers N Paws last Sunday, has had her adoption confirmed.
Otis and Hailey are still waiting for their new family
