Sat 14th Sept: More new arrivals

The new arrivals
The new dogs and puppies arrived at Ap Lei Chau in the morning as expected, thanks again to Kaz of Freedom Rides, and as we had potential adopters waiting to meet them two were taken home almost immediately.  Of course they will need to have their health checks and vaccinations after the weekend, but I felt it was better for all concerned if they didn't stay at the Homing Centre until then.  Two of the larger pups will need to go to Tai Po after they've been chipped, licensed and all the rest but the samoyed we were told was coming wasn't in today's group, just in case anyone was waiting.
This boy was in and out

With a week to go until the Bohemian Pupsody event, a lot of time and thought is going towards making sure everything is ready for next Saturday.  Although every big event takes months to plan there's a lot of last-minute arrangements and tweaking that are necessary, including the seating plan which is why we need to know who's coming.   If that's you and you still haven't let us know, please email nicole@hongkongdogrescue.com so she can add you in.
It's next Satruday!

Eliza in her foster home
It will be puppy time at Whiskers N Paws again on Sunday, although not all of the puppies will be there this week.  Pretty Eliza went to a short-term foster home after she hurt her leg during some rough play, but she's fine now and ready to go to her forever home.  Her foster says: "She’s so sweet personality wise. Quiet, doesn’t chew, uses a pad for peeing and pooping. She’s getting used to the outside but still nervous. Getting more confident on the lead and likes playing with my dog". If you'd like to meet Eliza please contact Cindy at foster@hongkongdogrescue.com to arrange.

Still in foster homes
Also still in foster homes are the six adorable little youngsters as their red cell counts were slightly low when they arrived so we're allowing them some time to get stronger.  Again please contact Cindy if you're interested in meeting any dogs or puppies that are currently in foster care.

One puppy that won't be coming to any more adoption afternoons is Freya, as she had her permanent residency confirmed by her temporary family.  That actually happened on Friday as I was unpacking the boxes of wine but I forgot to mention it yesterday.  Any puppy finding a wonderful forever home is important and noteworthy, so thank you to Freya's adopter for taking in a second HKDR orphan.

Don't forget that the wine is available at our Ap Lei Chau Homing Centre any day, so come while there's still stock!  It's just $50 a bottle or $500 for a case of 12, and you can't say no to that!
