Tues 16th May: More Stanley Barracks sweetness

It was another "waiting day" today, with nothing coming out of AFCD (thankfully) as we need some adoptions at our Tai Po Centre before we can squeeze any more dogs in.  Sadly the surrender requests haven't stopped, with one home wanting offload a lot of mixed breeds all at once.  It's impossible to agree to take in all of the throwaways, and the awful thing is that we can never know what happens to them, although I can make a good guess.  All we can do is to beg people to think before buying or adopting, as this is really a (dog's) lifetime commitment.

Teabag is now called Bonnie
Following on from Sunday's successes at Whiskers N Paws, I was very happy to get a message from Teabag's trial home to say that she was perfect and they were confirming adoption.  Teabag is a Stanley Barracks puppy, in case you had forgotten, and I can't say enough times how lovely these dogs are in every way.   We have a collection of Stanley Barracks doglets still needing homes, some in foster and regulars at Whiskers N Paws, and quite a few at Tai Po.  If you are looking for a family dog who will be great with children, look no further because these are all calm, gentle and tolerant characters.
You can tell just by looking at Crunchie that he is a dream

Another one of the recent Stanley Barracks additions at Tai Po was Crunchie, and he too is the sweetest boy who has been chosen by a family who have been looking for the right dog for a while.  Crunchie is due to leave on Thursday, and although I don't like to announce adoptions in advance in case it doesn't happen I feel in this case it will.

I mentioned the adoption of two senior pekes yesterday, Eddie and Buggy, and received this lovely follow-up message today:

"We have gotten very attached to them so we know we couldn’t let them go!  They came to our wedding on Saturday, Eddie was quite dapper with his bow tie but Buggy was not into formal wear and wouldn’t hold still for a photo (a couple of photos attached just for fun)."
