Sun 14th May: Sunny skies

By some happy miracle today was dry and sunny and the Whiskers N Paws terrace was packed with potential adopters, some of whom left with their new family members while others took puppies for fostering or a trial.  Eric Tang was our volunteer photographer for the afternoon and here are his great shots (it's much harder than it seems!)

Gorgeous Coco found a lovely home
Coco moved from foster to her forever home despite being very lame, something that happened just yesterday and I really hope is nothing serious.  Her leaving meant there was space for another and it was Jerry who was chosen to hang out with Bertram until next Sunday.   Even better, Jerry's brother Jimmy also found a short-term foster, long enough for him to learn the basics of leash walking as well as having a nice dry home to stay out of the rain.
Evie is Coco's sister, though hard to believe

Coco's sister (although hard to believe as they are so different) Evie was also adopted, so now we're just waiting for the third sister Petra's confirmation and it's case closed on this particular litter.

Skye is adopted!
Another set of sisters who look quite different are Wendy, Wilma and Skye and it was Skye whose adoption was confirmed today.

The Stanley Barracks girl, Teabag, that I took out of AFCD just a couple of days ago was already out and about on Soho by the evening, getting to know her new pug maybe-sister (if they get along).   Another newcomer, Jacob, also left for a foster-maybe-adopt home, while Chestnut did the same.

Baby Gordon was the first of the black-and-tan litter of six to go, and I hope the other five will be as lucky in the coming Sundays.
Bye bye baby Gordon!

It was packed at the small Ap Lei Chau Homing Centre and very difficult for both potential adopters and Manager Iris to be able to talk, but two little dogs left by the end of the day: tiny Wiggle the chihuahua and newly-surrendered poodle Plum.
Plum was a new surrender
Wiggle was also from the recent AFCD batch

If you are interested in meeting the smaller dogs then if at all possible please try to go to Ap Lei Chau during the week when you will have much more time, as well as space, to be with the dogs and to talk to either Andrea or Iris about them.
