Weds 6th Jan: More puppies and fosters needed

Before anything else I want to mention that we have six lovely young puppies coming to us from AFCD on Thursday, and we'd prefer that they go to foster homes for a couple of weeks rather than stay at the Ap Lei Chau Homing Centre.  They're not babies that need bottle feeding, but they do need to go in pairs for the time being, so anyone interested in looking after very cute pups until they find their forever homes please contact Cindy at foster@hongkongdogrescue.com.  As always we will provide everything needed in terms of bed, food, toys and so on, all we need from you is a place for the puppies to stay.

After a few days of warmer weather the temperature is due to drop again, so we're all happy that so many Tai Po dogs are snug and warm in their foster homes, as well as being grateful for the donations of blankets and fleeces that our outdoor residents can enjoy during the cold spell.

There is another use for the blankets as Piggy discovered upstairs at the Ap Lei Chau Homing Centre https://www.facebook.com/HKDR.DOGGIES/videos/221003882942842.  I've watched this video many times as it makes me incredibly happy to see how Piggy has opened up and changed so much since moving back from Lamma.  Now she has friends her own size and who have the same kind of shy character, and in fact of them all it's Piggy who is the most confident. She's having the best time of her life now.

As expected, all three of the new poodles already have homes although smaller dog Rubble inexplicably is still waiting.  Everyone who knows Rubble says he's a great dog, and this is what long-term volunteer Harryn said about him: "Gosh, today I realised Rubble is a piece of GOLD! Super good boy very sweet loves to lean his body weight to rub you, and he knows his commands! Such undiscovered good boy boy".
