I had to take photos of the Lamma Life Saver Club dogs today, not such an easy thing to do when all of them want to crowd round to see what's going on but I managed to take some usable shots anyway. Even though quite a few of the Lamma residents didn't find homes because they were "scaredy pups" at the time (like Margie, left), I have plenty who are incredibly sweet and who would have made fantastic family dogs. Too late now and they're happy enough, and at least these days with all puppies staying at the Ap Lei Chau Homing Centre this isn't a situation that happens any more.
Gorgeous big boy Rag, who's as soft as anything, doesn't have a sponsor yet in case you would like to "adopt" him. Please contact Ellen at lifesaver@hongkongdogrescue.com for information about the various sponsorship options.
While I was occupied with taking photos (and trying to work out how to use my new camera), the Tai Po team, as well as Cindy and Cactus, were all busy handling the foster dogs currently in temporary "cold weather" homes, and although it's been considerably warmer these past couple of days the temperature is forecast to be dropping again this week. The updates have been so lovely, and just like my sweet Lamma dogs many of those at Tai Po would have made perfect family members, and still do, even if older now.
All of the recent arrivals will be going to the vet and/or AFCD for health checks and licensing on Tuesday, and after that we'll have more of an idea of age and condition.
We also took in four new dogs at Tai Po today, all adults of course, and photos with details will be shared once we have had them all checked out. As I keep saying, if we don't have what you're looking for one day, exactly the right dog might turn up very soon.
