Tues 2nd July: Still searching for terrier Tina

Noddy's now a big baby
You'll know it's me at Acorn Vet Hospital when you see the piles of travel crates full of dogs and puppies stacked in the waiting room, and I was back again today with an assortment needing this and that.  One of the puppies was German shepherd Noddy, who has grown from a very small baby into a huge boy with massive paws and a very sweet nature.  When he and his brother Big Ears first came to us, Noddy was so small in comparison I thought he'd stay that way,  but then he started to grow and surprised me.  Luckily for Noddy he's been in a lovely foster home but now he's outgrown the space and he's more than ready for a forever home.  He has a lovely gentle character to match his handsome looks, although his ears are still trying to stand up.  He'll be moving to a new foster home on Wednesday so please email Cindy at foster@hongkongdogrescue.com if you are interested in adopting.

All happy dogs now
The new smaller dogs that came to us on Sunday have settled in well, and our long-term volunteer Harryn was busy today taking photos.  Although I'm happy for them, I can't stop thinking about the terrier that escaped and ran away, as so far there has been no news at all.  The last sighting was around 3pm on Sunday and I have to assume she's still on Ap Lei Chau somewhere, and it's quite possible someone's picked her up and is looking after her but if that's the case we really need to know.  I'm going to give her the name of Tina so I can refer to her as something more personal than "the terrier", and we'll keep looking and asking people to share the photo.
Terrier Tina is always on my mind
The Red Dogs checking out their photos

You probably know we have a separate collection of small residents we call the "Red Dogs", the ones that have certain behaviour issues, with strangers at least.  With the volunteers they know and trust they're perfectly fine, and the few that have been lucky enough to have been given a chance and adopted have all done very well.  Harryn took this photo which I really like, and I think it also reflects the love the volunteers have for these previously mistreated and misunderstood characters.   We would love for more of them be be given the opportunity to have a real home of their own, without young children naturally, if anyone is willing to give them that chance.

  1. LOL! The red dogs looking at their photos! Lucille & Wilfred look part Corgi. They even look related.
