Thurs 3rd Aug: More new dogs on Friday

The new doberman looks exactly like Charis
There will be a new batch of small dogs arriving from AFCD Sheung Shui on Friday, as well as another doberman girl from the same home breeder (via AFCD) as our previous one, Charis, and in fact as they are the same estimated age they could well be sisters.  If anyone is interested in this new doberman, please complete the adoption questionnaire on our website www.hongkongdogrescue.com (under Adopt).  This is required for all potential adopters regardless of what size or age of dog you are interested in.
1 year old bichon boy
3 years old schnauzer boy

The small dogs are all relatively young, ranging from a one year-old bichon frise and a three year-old schnauzer to the two oldest at six years, a beagle and a tan poodle (although it's registered as a bichon for some reason).  There's also a five year-old shih tzu (with bad skin), and as we don't see that many of this once-popular breed any more I suspect this little girl will easily find a home.   These little dogs will join the daily party at our Ap Lei Chau Homing Centre where the recent newcomers are just starting to settle in.
Shih tzu girl 5 years

The two Yorkies that arrived on Sunday have both already left, one to Gus's home (the peke that died shortly after adoption).  The surrendered poodle girl has also gone to a foster home, so at least there are three vacancies, if you can call it that.  We have a lot of very sweet little dogs available now so I hope the weekend will be busy with adoptions.

I'll also be taking a dog from AFCD in Pokfulam that was being considered as a test dog, that is an AFCD official working dog that is used for the "Off Leash Exemption Test" for dogs over 20 kilos. These tests are only held once a year as far as I can see, and the next round is in November http://www.pets.gov.hk/text_only/en_dog_1_4_5.php#e2

I feel sorry for these test dogs as they have to live at AFCD kennels full time, so I'm happy that this particular boy failed because he's too bouncy.

Sunday is also puppy afternoon of course, and I'm hoping we'll be saying goodbye to some of the youngsters.  They are all lovely characters and just the right age to move to their new homes.

The new dogs will be joining these already at the Homing Centre
