Sat 5th Aug: Renovations underway at Tai Po

Everything has to be lifted and moved
The renovation work is underway at Tai Po, and thanks to those volunteers who helped shift heavy bags of cement, rubber tiles and other stuff that needed to be moved to allow the workers to do their bit.  It's tough enough under any circumstances but in this heat it's exhausting, so all help is very much appreciated.  We still need more dogs to go to foster homes as the work continues , so please email may@hongkongdogrescue.com if you can help.  It will be for the duration of that particular dog's enclosure renovation, so we're not asking for long-term commitments.

Thanks too to Acorn Clinic Manager, Ray Tung, for leading today's workshop in our series, "Caring for Older Dogs". Ray's had a lot of personal experience with her own dogs as well as being a fully qualified Vet Nurse, so she was able to share a lot of valuable information and tips on aging problems, and even that difficult subject of when it's time to let a dog go.

The details of other upcoming workshops can be seen here http://hongkongdogrescue.com/education-training/workshop/

Kit is a very small poodle girl
Two dogs left our Ap Lei Chau Homing Centre today, little poodle girl Kit, and new schnauzer boy Buzzie.  Hopefully Sunday will be a busy day at both Homing Centres, as well as Whiskers N Paws for the puppy afternoon. I'm counting the days until the end of the month when things get back to normal after the long summer break.
I didn't think Buzzie would stay for long
