Sat 28th May: Part One of the rooftop case closed

As expected, the last three poodles from the "rooftop" case were adopted today, ending this part of the story, at least from the poodles' point of view.  I don't know if there will be any prosecutions for illegal breeding because the dogs are needed as evidence, which is why all of the puppies and kittens confiscated from the smuggling cases will be adult dogs and cats by the time they're released.   

We had so many adoption enquiries for the poodles, and I'm sorry that we didn't have enough to share around to all of those homes that I'm sure could have provided a wonderful life.

At least the huskies are living a life they could only have dreamed of now, with two adopted and the others being well cared for in foster homes.   

Trinity can't believe the space she has

The last one we took in was Trinity, the mother who had only recently given birth to a litter of puppies, presumably taken from her by someone and leaving her full of milk with no babies to suckle.  She was at ALCVC again today having a check-up to monitor her progress, and she's doing well all things considered.  Not one of the huskies was fully healthy, which is hardly surprising, so they're all having to go for treatment and regular checks.  Trinity's foster parents are leaving for the summer so she's going to need a new home, preferably permanent but if not, another foster. Marina arrived safely in Canada where she was reunited with her ex-foster parents, and well as Wonka, another ex-Tai Po dog that Marina used to know.  This Failed Foster family took a while to join the club, but we're thrilled that they are now fully fledged members.

Sunday means Whiskers N Paws and the afternoon Puppy Party, and it's another full house with lots of hopefuls wanting to be picked out from the crowd.  As I wrote yesterday, we also have a growing number of puppies returned from their foster homes and now staying at our Kennedy Town Homing Centre.
