Sun 9th May: Puppies here, puppies there, puppies everywhere

James has a new home and family

I know everyone likes to read about adoptions so I'll get right down to it, starting with James, who left the Ap Lei Chau Homing Centre just before the last of the Sugarbabe Litter, Sugar.  Both had received a lot of interest, but we always try to choose the home that best suits each individual personality and needs.  James loves attention so he can get jealous of other dogs, while Sugar has always been the shy one of the litter.
Sugar was the last of the Sugarbabe litter

Lucky little Jenkins was the puppy taken home from Whiskers N Paws, and he was one of the group that came together with James, the "J" group.  The full album is posted on our HKDR Facebook page, with thanks to regular long-term photography volunteer Eric Tang  Puppy Adoption Day 9th May 2021

Joshua needs to have the remains of his leg removed

Also one of the "J" group, Joshua came to us with one from leg missing, but not cleanly as there was enough left to need full amputation.  Surgery's taking place on Monday so if anyone can foster Joshua while the wound heals please email Cindy at foster@hongkongdogrescue.com.

Jenkins, Jessie and James are adopted

Again from the same intake, Jilly has an old leg (femur) break which has healed badly, so she will also need surgery to re-set the bone so we'll also need a foster home for her while she heals.

The Beach Babies on their way to respective fosters

As one litter of baby pups grow up to be old enough for adoption there's always another on their tail, and in this case it's the Beach Babies following the "P" Litter.  Although still too young to go to new homes, Sandy has already been chosen and will have regular meet-ups with her new parents before leaving her foster home and brother.  These babies came to us as literally newborn, so hats off to their foster parents for their fantastic hard work, and you can follow why_i_foster  on Instagram if you want to see updates on many lucky pups who have been through this particular foster home.

The "T" puppies remain in quarantine at ALCVC, with the report today that Teezil, Talia, Tammy, Tessie, Tucker, Tumble and Tisha are all doing well, with only Tickle and Toggle causing concern.  At least the request for toys to be sent over was a good sign, and we hope that most pups will be able to leave hospital soon. I took this very short video of Talia before the pups left the Homing Centre, and you can see how totally gorgeous she is.
