With so many potential adopters asking about smaller sized dogs and pupppies, I want to mention that not all mixed breeds grow to be large adults, and I have a few on Lamma to prove my point.
The two puppies that came to Ap Lei Chau On Sunday, and who first glance appeared to be very young because of their size, have a full set of milk teeth and were estimated by the vet today to be two months of age. Being so small now means they won't grow big later, although obviously they won't stay as tiny as they are now.
Mandy and Kiki are also small in size as you can see from the adoption photo taken today when lucky Mandy was adopted, leaving Kiki to play with the poodles until they get picked up by their new families.

Zack and Zia are two of the "Z" Litter and yes, I did say they had all been adopted, which is true. However the resident dog in Zack and Zia's home is continuing to be unhappy about the pups being there and there's a real fear they could be hurt, so it was decided that finding new homes was for the best. They are adored by their human family and the decision was very difficult, and there were many photos sent to help find new homes as well as these descriptions:
Zack is an adventurous little chap, sniffing and exploring everything and everywhere. Though when given a scare and he comes running back for a hug and some reassurance!
He loves playing fetch and is great at bringing the ball right back; thinks chicken is just the most exciting thing in the world and is easy to train - he already knows his "sit", "paw", "down" and to come when called.
Weighing 4kg he's not going to be a large dog and we predict a fantastic hiker, swimmer, and buddy to whoever is lucky enough to have this little guy in their lives.
Zia is the Warrior Princess - with a tough start in life she has not only survived but is now a thriving little lady, polite, sweet and gentle (unless playing rough and tumble with her brother!!).
She is a tiny soul at just 2.8kg but don't let her small size fool you - she isn't afraid to stand up for herself - unless she is at the top of a scary staircase - she still needs a carry down the stairs!
She has perfected her "sit", "paw" and is learning "down" as she elegantly stretches her paws out in front of her. And she loves to hug, cuddle and be held - a perfect lap dog that’s happy to just sit with you but with the spirit and energy for lots of outdoor fun.
Apart from Mandy leaving the Homing Centre, puppy Tanya's foster family came with her to complete the adoption paperwork while Patti, who has been staying at Whiskers N Paws, was also chosen to go home. You can see the size difference between Tanya and Mandy to give you an idea of what I'm talking about.
At Tai Po Homing Centre, recent arrivals Raisin and Radish are also medium sized dogs, and with the sweetest of characters too.
This pair of mother and daughter is extremely sweet! Mother Raisin is still very young at the age of 1-ish and Radish is only 8-month old.
Both are incredibly friendly. Raisin is calm and gentle while Radish is more playful and explorative. You can see in the video they had a great time playing with another puppy William https://www.facebook.com/hkdogrescue/videos/pcb.3822532934426077/2911266325774196/.
Although we’d be very happy to see them go to the same home, we believe it’s not necessary to rehome them as a pair as they like to spend time with humans a lot. If you are interested in bringing one of them or both home, please spend a few minutes to complete our Adoption Questionnaire as first step:
