Tues 14th May: Where did he come from?

The malinois puppy is small and very sweet
The malinois that swam to shore and miraculously ended up at my neighbour's house turned out to be just a puppy, so the question of where it came from is even more of a mystery.  How does a six month-old purebreed puppy end up in the sea, not to mention have the strength to swim however far it needed to?  There was no microchip to identify an owner, and actually I would have been surprised if there had been, so I took him to AFCD to have him licensed and from there he went to Tai Po to join the other puppies.

I was going to call him Luke until I was told we already have a dog of that name at the Homing Centre, so he may be Loki or perhaps another suitable name.  Whatever he ends up being called, if you are interested in adopting a small-sized and very sweet Belgian shepherd puppy, please complete the Adoption Questionnaire on our website www.hongkongdogrescue.com (under Adopt).  Remember we also have very lovely German shepherd-ish puppies around the same age available, namely Otto and Libby, again both extremely sweet and affectionate.
Otto is a gorgeous puppy too

One of the Ap Lei Chau dogs that was taken for a trial has very quickly had her adoption confirmed after winning the hearts of her now-adopters.  Lucky corgi girl Bonnie has been doing so well and charming everyone in her new home, so it only took a day to convince the family that she would be staying for ever.

Smiling Marnie
There's also been a big change in Marnie, the little dog who was abandoned at AFCD by her previous adopters.  Although she's still nervous and not really keen to be touched, she loves her walks and outings to the dog park, and there's a smile on her pretty face now.
