Bruno was is charge today and very proud if it too |
During these days of will-it-won't-it-rain it was fortunate that the weather stayed dry for the Lo Wu Saddle Club event, especially as we were there once again with our range of HKDR merchandise. Tai Po dog Buno was in charge of the stall at the
Inter-school Equestrian Challenge Final, ably assisted by volunteers Rebecca and Lok.

Small sized Dudley and Jenny, always together |
Meanwhile volunteer Becky was at the
Puppy Adoption Day 4 May 2019 — at 康迪亞獸醫 Concordia Pet Care showing off some of our lovely puppies, and there were a couple of hopefuls but no actual adoptions. Thanks to Kevin Chan for a beautiful set of photos, and I especially love the shots of Dudley and Jenny, a lookalike pair who have become inseparable. The funny thing is that I took Dudley from AFCD as a singleton with Jenny arriving later as one of a litter, but somehow I think they must be brother and sister. Anyway it would be amazing if they could be homed together.

Lucas can put his cage days behind him for good |
We had two lovely adoptions today, one at each Homing Centre, and strangely very similar in situation and circumstance. Lucas was the lucky Tai Po boy, with Deenie leaving Ap Lei Chau. The similarity of the two was that both adopters needed to make trips abroad in the coming few days so had to arrange temporary care for their new dogs for a short time. With a lack of space at both Homing Centres we can't hold dogs if they are chosen, so it has to be a case of take immediately or risk losing the dog you really want. Both Lucas's and Deenie's adopters were so sure that this was the dog for them that they worked hard to find a solution, and it happened on the same day.

Deenie and her new daddy |
Everyone at Tai Po was totally smitten with the new puppies from Stanley Barracks, as I knew would happen. These puppies, plus the "beagle cross" from AFCD, are so lovely, both in looks and temperament, and if you are looking for a larger sized puppy to adopt I would urge you to take a look at this group as soon as you can.
