Tues 13th June: Spreading the word about HKDR

Don't forget to buy your Raffle Tickets!
I was happy to be able to get off the island today as I'm never quite sure if heavy rain will make it impossible, and I had an important meeting to get to in Central as part of our never-ending need for funding.  Although on the face of it our main purpose is the rescue and re-homing of dogs and puppies, we still have to pay for everything and it's a huge amount every month, with total expenses in 2016 being almost $8 million.

Getting our name out is also a big part of our work, as the more people who know about HKDR the wider our reach in terms of both adoptions and donations, as well as volunteers (very important too). That's why we have been very happy to have famous Instagrammer Allan Dixon in town, and helping spread the word.  Here's the link to a South China Morning Post video where Allan explains how to take good animal selfies https://www.facebook.com/scmp/videos/10155337093289820/

Our two major annual fundraising events are also an important source of income, and this year's "Diamond Dogs" Gala Dinner will take place at the Aberdeen Marina Club Ballroom on Saturday 9th September, while the date for Peak to Fong 2017 has been fixed for Sunday 19th November.

Earlybird tickets for the "Diamond Dogs" Gala have already started and you can email the organiser Jamie at jamie@hongkongdogrescue.com
