Sun 11th June: Calm before the first typhoon of the year

How could anyone resist Kimberly's charm?
It wasn't a huge surprise that both ex-breeder collies found homes within a very short time, but regardless of the fact that they jumped the adoption queue I'm very happy for them.  They are incredibly sweet girls, and all breeder dogs deserve the chance to enjoy a real life after their horrible experiences, so I won't be unhappy if the golden retriever who came from the same breeder as the collies also finds a home.  She's a very beautiful version of the breed, although I don't have a photo yet that shows that.

Still, we have reason to celebrate even more at Tai Po because two long-term residents will soon be boarding a plane for Canada, following in the paw-steps of recent long-haul travelers Logan and Wally.  The two lucky dogs are Nattie and Pringle, so we will say our goodbyes at the end of the month when they leave to start their new life.

Baxter the little poodle followed his "brother" Bailey's recent adoption as he was today's lucky Ap Lei Chau resident.  I heard he was leter seen shopping at the Pet Expo in Wanchai, so I hope he picked up some great stuff to take to his new home.
Bye bye Baxter!

Ginger and his new family
We had a hot and sunny afternoon on the terrace at Whiskers N Paws, the calm before the expected typhoon on Monday, and although it wasn't a huge success in terms of adoptions with only Ginger having his paperwork completed, the puppies have so much fun there that I love it regardless.

Can anyone foster baby Callum?
Two of the new litter of three pups were taken home for fostering, and at least one will be staying of the resident dog approves. If anyone could take the remaining little brother it would be a relief, as I suspect he gets a lot of bullying from the bigger boys and girls.

We patched up the Giant Cheque for Chris ......
There were two lovely Two Presents donations during the afternoon, and I managed to semi-resurrect the Giant Cheque which had been written on with permanent marker, a big mistake.  It didn't change anything in terms of the kindness of Chris and Emerald in sharing their birthdays with the puppies, and thank you to both!
But had to do some covering up for Emerald
