Thurs 16th Feb: One out, one in

Sweet Tammy

I'm especially happy that little Tammy was adopted today because now she won't have to wonder where her best friend Taurus is, and she can get used to having all the attention for herself.
Digby arrived wearing a coat

At the same time we took in a replacement, another young dog who's now called Digby.  Hopefully he and the few remaining dogs at Elgin Street will become friends too.

We still have a lot of medium-sized young adults at our Tai Po Homing Centre, so please remember to check them out if you're looking for a new family member.  There are so many truly wonderful hopefuls staying at our huge New Territories Centre, including Mochi, back from her short stay in foster care following surgery to repair her broken leg.  We thought we had two potential homes for her until the freak accident (we still have no idea how the break happened), but sadly it changed everything.  Mochi is very young so her leg will heal perfectly, but I know that adopting a dog that needs extra care, even for a short time, isn't an attractive proposition for most people.  This video shows Mochi just before the accident, and you can see how happy and friendly she is:

Weekends mean puppies (in my mind) and we have hundreds (again in my mind), whether at the two Kennedy Town Centres, Elgin Street or in foster homes.  On Sunday afternoons a selection of puppies, including some staying in foster care, attend the regular Whiskers N Paws Puppy Party, from 2pm to 4pm, 10/F, Horizon Plaza, Ap Lei Chau.  The puppies come in all sizes except very small, so no chihuahua or pom-types, and by completing the questionnaire we can tell you where to go to meet them.  The questionnaire is at www.hongkongdogrescue.com/adopt/adoption-questionnaire/
