Sun 12th Feb: A mixed bag of happiness

The puppies at Whiskers N Paws enjoyed a very happy and fun couple of hours on the terrace as always, and if nothing else it gives us the perfect opportunity to capture them in photographs Puppy Adoption Day 12th Feb 2023.  Today's photographer was Elena Matthew (see photo below), who's also the photography coordinator, scheduling our wonderful team of volunteers for the regular Sundays, or as needed.  Thank you to all.

Oliver found his family today

Ironically the puppy who was adopted today didn't go to Whiskers N Paws, so the family that turned up to meet him had to go to Kennedy Town instead.  It was a worthwhile trip which resulted in Oliver leaving to start his new life, and I have to admit that I feel a twinge of envy when I see a dog or puppy that I love being adopted.  It only lasts a minute because there's always another gorgeous one waiting for me to have my eye on, and I'm always happy to know that another dog's life has been changed forever.
Elena with Fitz

There was another very lucky puppy chosen at Kennedy Town, and this was the first of the gorgeous "F" Litter to be adopted.  Felix will be leaving for Singapore as soon as a flight can be arranged too, so his life is really going to change in a big way. The adoption photo will follow, but in the meantime I'll share a photo of Elena Matthew with Fitz, another beautiful "F" boy ready to find his forever family.

Shiloh deserved this second chance

Just like little Stella who was adopted on Saturday, another mother dog left to start her new life as a family member today.  Shiloh's puppies were born while she was at AFCD, and we took the litter when they were old enough to be separated from their mother, while she went to Tai Po.  Now a whole new chapter begins for this very sweet dog, and it's another wonderful happy ending to what was a sad story.

Tompkins was chosen twice

It was another busy day at HKDR@Elgin, and thanks again to a fantastic team of volunteers for helping to care for the dogs and puppies, as well as introducing potential adopters to them all.  As far as the adult dogs are concerned, I need to remind anyone who's planning to meet them that there is only one of each dog, which might seem like a very obvious thing to say but what I mean is that if you wait too long to make a decision, the dog may have been adopted.  That happened today when a family who had met Tompkins on Saturday came back for him today, just as he was going home with another family.

Gorgeous little Tootsie

Adorable little Tootsie was also adopted today, and watch this space for news of other HKDR@Elgin dogs and puppies leaving over the next day or so.

We do still have some of the small-medium dogs left, and I'm sure there will be more coming in the future.  The only thing I don't know is when and what they will be.
